Sell the Story, Not the Promotion

I thought it would be useful to tell you about some changes Facebook are bringing in for pages. We all now how hard it can be for pages to get organic reach right? Well if you don’t heed Facebook’s attempts to ‘train’ us, it could get even harder! Basically Facebook are trying to get pages to be less salesy and more in tune with why their fans are on Facebook in the first place. How many times have you seen posts like this ‘50% off BUY NOW for big discounts.’ If you have seen them and are just on Facebook to catch up with friend’s news, photos and gossip it can be annoying. So what do you do if you have something you want to sell to your fans? The answer….get into STORYTELLING! Here’s the thing, Facebook want you to tell a story and not use heavy handed sales language. They want us to be more tasteful and less SHOUTY. Still not sure what I mean? Okay here’s an example. Instead of:
